Staff ReportDESIGN REVIEW BOARD STAFF REPORT Project Manager: Crissy Perez Date: September 2, 2004 Email: cperez @cstx.gov For THE LIBRARY (04 -216) All proposals involving site development or redevelopment in the Northgate District shall require a review by the Design Review Board (DRB). Zoning District: NG -1 Core Northgate Location: 329 University Drive W. Applicant: Sean Mitchell - Mitchell Construction Item Summary: The applicant is proposing to add a front entrance door in place of an existing window. The building currently has one entrance door, one exit door, and two windows that protrude outward from the building. The proposed door will be flush with the face of the building and is proposed to have windows surrounding it to imitate the adjacent window. All materials will be the same as on the existing doors and windows. The existing canopy over the window will remain. All colors will remain the same and there are no plans to repaint or repair any other features on the exterior of the building. Because the proposed door will no longer protrude off of the face of the building, the applicant will need to extend the existing sidewalk to the new facade in that area. Item Background: The Library is located on University Drive between Loupot's and the Texas Aggie Bookstore. The building was established in 1948 and is considered low priority according to the Northgate Historic Survey. Issues /Items for Review: 1.
