Relationship to Strategic Goals: (Select all that apply) ·Core Services and Infrastructure Recommendation(s): N/A Summary: CSU’s electric network is approximately 56%underground.Although underground assets can increase the service reliability of the electric system they can also cause more lengthy outages. Underground equipment such as padmount transformers and switchgear are also expensive,so the premature failure of these devices due to corrosion can be costly. In order to avoid these outages and expenditures,CSU has an URD asset management program. The objective of this annual maintenance program is to ensure that the padmount transformers and switchgear are inspected, refurbished, and replaced (as required)through a systematic,multi-year program so as to maximize reliability and minimize outages and replacement costs.
